Jordi Alba announces his retirement from professional football
The decorated Spanish defender joined Valencia CF at the age of 18, the Club where he grew and was given the opportunity to make his LALIGA debut
The preseason comes to a close at the weekend with the 50th edition of the Trofeu Taronja curtain raiser which will take place on Saturday at 9 pm kick-off time.
Valencia CF have played five preseason games with a balance of 2 wins one draw and two losses. Gattuso’s side will be looking to end their preseason on a high note in front of the Valencia CF faithful.
Atalanta BC are a transalpine side who have finished in the first half of the table in recent seasons and have featured in the European competitions highlighting their participation in the last three editions of the Champions League.
Saturday’s game will also be the final preseason test for Atalanta BC who crossed paths with Valencia CF in the 46th edition of the Trofeu Taronja curtain raiser where the Bergamo side edged Valencia CF by a 1-2 scoreline.
Valencia CF will host newly promoted side Girona CF on Saturday 14th of August at 7:30 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 1 of LaLiga Santander.
